Where did my daddy go?

Scenario this morning:

Adam puts on his jacket. Picks Ben up... kisses him. Says goodbye. ~I think nothing of it~

Adam heads down the stairs...shuts the door.

Ben -- suddenly realizes that Adam is no longer in the apartment...-- scurries over to the baby gate... puts his face on the mesh and starts yelling, "dada dada dada". Oh dear.

By far the cutest trick Ben has done... (but I say that every time he does a new trick). I walked over to him and told him that daddy had gone to work and that he would be back to see him later. Ben seemed content with this answer, turned away from the baby gate, and resumed playing with his ball. Does he understand? Who knows...but it was certainly very cute to watch.
